You know Knox and Ava from book one (and little Harper), but it's time to meet the rest of the Land of Ash crew who will steal your hearts (some of them for a second time 💜).

Fun fact: Land of Ash is ONLY one point of view. That rarely happens in my books. In fact, the only other novels I’ve written with a single POV is Untamed from the Savage North Chronicles and Tide and Tempest from Forgotten Lands. So, this is something that doesn’t happen often, but Harper girl carried this story all on her own.

Meet Harper aka "Doctor Robinson” and “Harper girl”

• A scarred, brooding scientist with a shoulder of steel and a surprising soft spot for stubborn farm girls

• Has spent years watching Harper from afar because she’s slightly terrifying and very unapproachable

• “You make me feel uncomfortable” might be the most romantic confession in post-apocalyptic history

Meet Tony aka “Uncle T”

• The jokester with the biggest heart and infectious laugh who never met a tense moment he couldn't defuse with humor

• Knox's partner-in-crime since high school, still getting him into trouble (and somehow knowing Harper's favorite cake)

• Steady as bedrock when it counts, but will absolutely roast you when you're being ridiculous about your feelings

• "Welcome to the family, Hartford. It's about damn time."

Meet Knox… Just Knox

• Protective father figure and softy at heart

• Cowboy-boot-wearing voice of reason who’s been Harper’s anchor through every storm (literal and metaphorical)

• Tough love expert who’ll threaten to bury your body, then welcome you to the family in the same breath

• Has a sixth sense for when Harper needs backup and zero tolerance for anyone who hurts his “kid”

• The eternally optimistic road wanderer with jade eyes, a man-bun, and enough charm to befriend anyone in thirty seconds

• Brings gifts, good vibes, and rocks a killer bandanna—basically the golden retriever of the apocalypse

• “Chica” and infectious grins are his calling cards

• Proof that sometimes the best things in life show up when you least expect them
